Tim Noonis, son of Thresher crewman RMC Walter J. Noonis, and Thresher Memorial Project Honoroary Groupmember, presents $1,500.00 from Unitil Service Corporation to Project Group spokesperson D. Allan Kerr

“Unitil is pleased to contribute to this memorial in honor of those lost aboard the nuclear submarine, USS Thresher.

This memorial is not only a fitting tribute to those lost on the Thresher, but to all of our men and women serving in uniform that their sacrifices  and the hardships endured by their family will always be remembered.

Unitil would like to acknowledge the fortitude and dedication of the memorial committee for seeing this project through from start to finish.

We would also like to recognize the leadership of the Kittery town government and to the citizens of Kittery for allowing this memorial to grace their town.

Finally, Unitil would like to thank the management and workforce of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard who dedicate themselves daily to the efficient and painstaking detail of maintaining our submarine fleet and thereby keep our nation safe.”
